FAYA COAT In development
Appearance concept of a woman wearing a discreet black mid-thigh coat on an evening city street.

Everyday outerwear. Protective ambition.

Everyday style.
A protective
purpose.

A discreet everyday coat for men and women. Our first research focus is sharp-edge cutting resistance in the garment itself.

Why FAYA COAT

Protection should
have a place in
everyday life.

The clothes we choose should work for the life we actually live.

FAYA COAT starts with a simple question: can an understated coat offer a useful protective contribution, remain comfortable and still be something people want to wear?

Our first development programme, RB-01, investigates defined sharp-edge cutting resistance. Materials, joins, coverage, care and fit must work together. Emergency essentials support the coat’s purpose.

No finished-garment protective performance, cut rating or certification has been established. Physical samples and appropriate testing are still ahead.

The design direction

Quiet on the outside.
Considered within.

One coat platform. Made to be investigated as a complete garment.

AI-generated design concept of an open black coat on a dress form, with an interior pocket and illustrative emergency essentials on a table.
AI-generated appearance concept. Interior layout, equipment and construction are illustrative, not selected specifications or evidence of performance.
Wearability

A coat you choose to wear.

An understated mid-thigh silhouette, a near-black exterior and freedom to move. Fit solutions for men and women must be developed and tried on real people.

Comfort · movement · everyday appearance

Protective assembly

The garment must earn its purpose.

We plan to compare traceable candidate layers and representative joins against an ordinary construction under a laboratory-defined cutting protocol. Coverage during movement, care and comfort also need investigation. A fabric result alone cannot establish a coat’s performance.

Materials · construction · defined evidence

Emergency access

Useful essentials, within reach.

Discreet organisation and removable essentials are being explored. Access should remain practical when the coat is worn or taken off, without sacrificing comfort or protection.

Access · retention · equipment care

For people. For real life.

Your day doesn’t
have one setting.

Walking to work. Meeting friends. Studying. Travelling.
The purpose stays the same: useful protection that fits everyday life.

AI-generated concepts of intended everyday use. Fit, materials and protective performance have not been demonstrated.

Designed for men and women.

Commercial cuts, sizes and availability remain to be decided.

From intention to evidence

A purpose is the start.
Proof is the work.

We have prepared design studies and a bounded research programme. Laboratory work and physical sampling have not yet been commissioned. Each stage must earn the next.

  1. Now · Define & investigate

    Scope the first comparison.

Obtain exact material information and agree a laboratory protocol for representative construction specimens, including an ordinary control. Set criteria before testing.

  2. Next · Build & compare

    Develop real fit and samples.

Take real adult measurements, assess fit with toiles and screen candidate constructions. Use the findings to decide whether to make wearable mock-ups with mapped coverage and measured weight.

  3. Then · Decide & refine

Let the results shape the product.

Compare comfort, movement, care, appearance and buyer preference with ordinary and specialist outerwear. Resolve performance limits and costs before funding further development or making claims.

A few clear answers

Before you ask.

What makes FAYA COAT different?

Cut-lined jackets already exist. FAYA is investigating whether a tailored mid-thigh form, appropriate fit for men and women, understandable coverage and manageable care can give people a reason to choose this coat. These are proposed advantages to test against attractive ordinary coats and specialist alternatives.

Does it protect against fire or knives?

No such finished-garment performance has been established. Our first research programme concerns defined sharp-edge cutting resistance, which is different from penetration by a knife tip or spike. No FAYA COAT cut rating or certification has been achieved. We make no stab, ballistic, heat/flame or respiratory protection claim, and do not present the coat as a flotation device. Any eventual benefit needs defined limits, appropriate evidence and an assessment of the requirements that apply.

Is it only for women or for travel?

No. The product is being developed for men and women across ordinary daily life, including work, study, evenings and travel. The final fit solutions and commercial range are still open.

Does the coat turn into a backpack?

Backpack transformation is not a requirement of the current design. Simple folding or zip-bag storage may be considered if it preserves the eventual protective assembly’s function and care requirements.

Are these photographs of finished samples?

No. The images are AI-generated appearance studies. They communicate the intended look and feel; they do not prove fit, construction, equipment capacity or protective performance.

When can I buy one?

FAYA COAT is in development. Price, launch timing and availability have not been confirmed. Physical sampling and evidence come first.
